POSITION: Entrepreneurship Specialist
Our ideal candidate will be ready to jump in and help us organize programs and services to support local
entrepreneurs and small businesses. We are seeking a candidate who has intermediate skills; can
coordinate entrepreneurial programs and provide great customer service to Southeast MN startups.
A successful candidate will have an opportunity to develop new skills, gain professional development
experience, and connect with a regional network of entrepreneurial ecosystem builders. We are seeking
a candidate who can work in a team environment to provide a holistic approach to our entrepreneurial
ecosystem. The successful candidate will report directly to the Executive Director and will work with a
team that carries out economic, workforce, and community development efforts.
Responsibilities of the Role:
· Serve as the first point of contact for entrepreneurs seeking support. Coordinate with other staff
and partners to manage opportunities for entrepreneur engagement and education.
· Support and carry out the day-to-day activities of our existing entrepreneurship programs in
coordination with the Entrepreneur Lead and Program Manager.
· Support the design of new programs and curriculum that will serve the growing and changing needs
of our entrepreneurs.
· Work with local, regional and national partners, stakeholders, mentors, investors, and entrepreneurs
to deliver equitable and inclusive support and programming to a diverse range of startup founders.
· Research grant programs for entrepreneurship support programs and work to prepare grant
application materials.
· Assist with the daily operations of the coworking space and scheduled outside events as needed.
· Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace along with a familiarity with
cloud-based productivity software, including Monday.com, Dropbox, Hootsuite, Eventbrite, Survey
Monkey, and other client relationship management and project management software.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent with a combination of education and experience,
including demonstration of the ability to provide excellent customer service and write at a collegiate
level.
Preference:
· A passion for helping RWI’s entrepreneurs grow and thrive.
· An interest in helping support startups and build a supportive ecosystem.
· Someone who can empathize with the entrepreneur’s experience in starting and growing a
business.
Salary and Benefits
· Pay range and negotiable benefit package is $38K-$42K dependent upon qualifications and
experience
· Flexible scheduling available with up to 8 weeks off or 4 day work weeks.
· Paid professional development and professional organization membership fees.
