Location:  Hybrid position – onsite in Red Wing, MN at least 1 day per week, virtual via Zoom technology and some travel in SE Minnesota 3-4 times per month.

THE ROLE

The E1 Navigator provides a concierge service for entrepreneurs connecting them to customized resources across the 11 county region of SE Minnesota, asset mapping, coordinating, and collaborating with regional E1 collaborative partners.

 

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

The E1 Navigator’s primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a primary contact person for all E1 partnerships. Lead the relationship management of existing E1 partners.

 

  • Maintain a presence at Red Wing Ignite to allow for multiple opportunities for connection with entrepreneurs each week. Develop an understanding of the needs of the entrepreneur and connect them with the right resources

 

  • Partner with Operations and Programming to ensure outreach events coordinate to broaden the RWI calendar. Collaborate with Outreach to ensure activities and events support a vibrant partnership with E1 partners.

 

  • Maintain accurate and timely financial and grant activities reports, including data analysis of regional reporting.

 

  • Oversight of DEED Launch Grant deliverables and subgrant (partner) budgets, of RWI and E1 Partners

 

  • Plan and execute E1 Expo and Showcase in collaboration with Operations, Programming, Outreach and E1 Partners.

 

  • Plan and execute E1 Ignite Cup in collaboration with Operations, Programming, Outreach and E1 Partners, Sponsors and MN Cup.

 

  • Work with Outreach and Marketing to ensure E1 social media and website are current, effective and in alignment with established goals and deliverables.

 

  • Maintain current regional Calendar of Events on E1 website.

 

About You:

  • 5-8 years of experience Education: College undergraduate degree in business preferred but comparable professional experiences will be considered.

 

  • Personality: Self-driven, results oriented, positive outlook, confident, organized. Comfortable dealing with a wide range of personalities and situations. Flexible, reliant, and tolerant. Forward thinking. Team player.

 

  • Specific job skills: Ability to collaborate and work in tandem with multiple partner organizations and develop relationships with the partners that lead to effective matching with ecosystem resources. Meet the needs of the entrepreneurs in a timely fashion, develop a deep understanding of their needs and be a visible face of RWI across the region.

 

  • Computer skills: Intermediate computer skills with a working knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office preferred.

 

  • Financial skills: Work within budget constraints.

 

  • Management capabilities: Ability to organize and set priorities under demanding customer service, workload and deadline expectations. Communicate effectively to achieve desired goals. Teach, guide, instruct, and inform as necessary.

 

  • Grants: Track and report metrics for state grant deliverables. Ability to manage within strict Federal requirements for items such as procurement procedures and financial disbursements.

 

 

Benefits

  • Full time four-day, 32 hour work week with flexible scheduling available. The salary range for this grant funded position is $55,000-$60,000.  Red Wing Ignite provides full-time staff with a competitive package, including 3 weeks of PTO, 4 floating holidays, and 15 paid holidays.  We also offer employer-provided health plans, a retirement savings plan and an employer match of up to 4% as well as ongoing professional development.

THE ROLE

Entrepreneur Coordinator

Our ideal candidate will be ready to jump in and help us organize programs and services to support local entrepreneurs and small businesses. We are seeking a candidate who can provide great customer service to Southeast MN startups, along with helping to coordinate entrepreneurial programs and gather data for grant reporting.

A successful candidate will have an opportunity to develop new skills, gain professional development experience, and connect with a regional network of entrepreneurial ecosystem builders. We are seeking a candidate who can work in a team environment to provide a holistic approach to our entrepreneurial ecosystem. The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Operations and will work with a team that carries out economic and community development efforts.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

The Entrepreneur Coordinator’s primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for entrepreneurs seeking support. Completing enrollment and coordinating with other staff and partners to manage opportunities for entrepreneur engagement and education.
  • Support and carry out the day-to-day activities of our existing entrepreneurship programs in coordination with the Entrepreneur Team.
  • Support the design of new programs and curriculum that will serve the growing and changing needs of our entrepreneurs.
  • Work with local, regional and national partners, stakeholders, mentors, investors, and entrepreneurs to deliver equitable and inclusive support and programming to a diverse range of startup founders.
  • Assist in research, reporting and preparation of grant application materials.
  • Assist with the daily operations of the coworking space and scheduled events as needed.
  • Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace

THE ROLE

The Director of Entrepreneurial Programming will plan, implement and oversee all aspects of entrepreneurial programming and education at Red Wing Ignite to include co-designing (in collaboration with the Center on Rural Innovation) an accelerator program as well as launching and leading the accelerator program that will promote new business growth in the region.

 

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

The Director of Entrepreneurial Programming’s primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a primary contact person for all educational programming.
  • Design a full suite of educational programming to support the needs of all stages of business growth.
  • Lead, teach, and facilitate classes and programming.
  • Create and promote an annual calendar of programming in collaboration with Outreach and Operations.
  • Develop a strategic plan for the launch and execution of an accelerator program at RWI.
  • Manage and provide ongoing oversight for the accelerator program.
  • Provide supervision, leadership and coordinate efforts with E-Ship Coach and contract instructors to deliver programming
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the E1 Navigator on educational support to the E1 partners.
  • Assist in identifying and building out opportunities for earned revenue for Red Wing Ignite.
  • Maintain accurate and timely financial and grant activities reports.

About You:

  • 5-8 years of experience Education: Masters degree or college undergraduate degree in business preferred but comparable professional experiences will be considered.

 

  • Personality: Self-driven, results oriented, positive outlook, confident, organized. Comfortable dealing with a wide range of personalities and situations. Flexible, reliant, and tolerant. Forward thinking. Team player.
  • Specific job skills: : Ability to prepare, present, and deliver educational programming. Develop strategic plans for moving entrepreneurs from idea to execution. Manage staff and contractors in the execution of the work. Leverage experience in education and the startup community.
  • Computer skills: Intermediate computer skills with a working knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Financial skills: Prepare budgets and work within budget constraints.
  • Business skills: Knowledge of startup educational needs. Ability to meet and present to the public, working cooperatively with entrepreneurs and community leaders in a professional and effective manner.
  • Management capabilities: Ability to organize and set priorities under demanding customer service, workload and deadline expectations. Communicate effectively to achieve desired goals. Teach, guide, instruct, and inform as necessary. Manage team of employees and outside contractors.
